Academic and Intellectual Initiatives

Mission
The Academic and Intellectual Initiatives Committee promotes academic success and intellectual development through intentional programs, services, and by promoting interaction between faculty, students, and staff.

Vision
The Academic and Intellectual Initiatives Committee strives  to actively engage students in the realization of their academic/learning goals, distinguish their role in the intellectual vitality and academic mission of the campus, and employ their learning for the public good.

Identified Needs for 2008-2009

  • Strengthen relationships with academic services departments and schools / colleges.
  • Help staff, students, and faculty to create a residential environment that supports academic success and intellectual development (including addressing space needs).
  • Support university retention efforts.
  • Provide programmatic resources and ideas to RAs and Sr. Staff.
