The residence
halls on North Campus primarily
serve first and second year
students, although junior and
senior students also reside in
these facilities. Walnut Hall,
Washington Arms, and Watson Hall
are only available for
upper-class students, however.
Each residence hall has its own
unique features and history,
such as the skyline view of the
city of Syracuse viewable from
the Lawrinson Penthouse, the
Brockway facility attached to
Brewster/Boland that contains
classroom space, lounge space
and a computer cluster, and the
student-created mural in Haven
Hall dedicated as a memorial to
the terrorist attacks of
September 11, 2001.
Services are
provided to students to make
living in the residence halls
more like living at home. All
halls have public lounge space
where students may socialize or
study their academics. The
information center for the
residence halls is the main
desk. It is there that residents
may borrow recreational
equipment to use such as pool
tables, foosballs, ping-pong
paddles, and board games. The
main desk staff also distributes
mail and packages to students
via the students’ personal
mailboxes. Staffed by students,
the main desks provide a
valuable resource to the
residents of the building.
Someone is available at the main
desks to assist students and
guests from 8 a.m.– Midnight
daily.
