To the Office of Residence Life

Here at the Office of Residence Life at Syracuse University, we look forward to working with each of our students to accomplish our mission of creating residential communities where living and learning experiences prepare students to pursue their life goals.  Because parents and families play can play a large role in getting your student ready for this experience, we invite you to browse our site and learn a bit more about what it means to be a member of the Office of Residence Life community at Syracuse University.

About 6 Word Reflections?

The ORL's Academic and Intellectual Initiatives Committee sponsors four 6-Word Reflection Contests throughout the year.  These short pieces ask students questions such as ‘Reflect on your experience at SU during the first week of classes’ and ‘What’s the biggest academic challenge you’ve faced this semester?’.  A winning reflection from a first-year student was ‘SU--constant adaptation of individual biographies’.  Student responses are poignant, insightful, often funny, and always reveal students’ successes and inspirations.
